ELIZABETH GEHRMAN
Elizabeth is a versatile writer and editor who has freelanced for magazines such as Interview, Life, Metropolitan Home, and the New York Times Magazine; book publishers including Henry Holt, Van Nostrand Reinhold, and Random House; and several newspapers, notably the Boston Globe.
In recent years she has focused on editing and writing for Boston-area nonprofits, hospitals, colleges, and universities, primarily various schools at Harvard. Her areas of interest include medicine, science, and the environment, but she has covered topics from aerospace to zoology. No matter the subject matter, Elizabeth is committed to the rules of grammar (and knowing when to break them), rigorous research and fact-checking, and clear, concise prose.
She has a master’s degree in journalism from New York University and a BA in English Literature from SUNY Buffalo, and is the author of Rare Birds, a biography of the ornithologist David Wingate.
